Sweet and rich, this Poppy Seed Crumble Cheesecake is perfect for a leisurely sunday. Delicious shortcrust pastry, juicy filling and crunchy crumble. I love poppy seeds and I love cheesecake, I would say the perfect combination.
Vegan curd/quark
If you can’t find one or want to make it yourself.
You put about 700 g of vegetable yogurt (vanilla soybean, for example) in a sieve lined with a cheesecloth and let everything drip overnight / 12 hours. That should give about 500 g of curd.
If you are not vegan, you can also use normal curd cheese.
I use this brand for steam poppy seeds .

[…] 28. Poppy Seed Cheesecake […]
Amazing! Almost exactly how I remember it from my childhood in Germany and my friends loved it too. I added cherries just beneath the crumbles, can recommend 🙂
Aw thank you so much Josephine.
So happy to hear that.
🙂 best Kathrin
Klara,
the brand of poppy seeds you advised has egg white in it. The brand in the US that is vegan is “Solo.” I am making this today for my father who turns 89. He was born in East Germany. Hoping it turns out.
It looks delicious. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
