Crispy and homemade chocolate biscotti with almonds and cinnamon.These Italian biscuits taste good all year round and are especially good at Christmas time. Enjoy it.
Chocolate biscotti
150 g whole almonds
35 g dark chocolate
125 g butter, softened
100 g of sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
250 grams of flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp cocoa powder
pinch of salt
Preheat the oven to 180 ° C. Roast the almonds for 10 minutes and then let them cool.
Chop and melt the chocolate.
Beat butter, sugar and vanilla with a hand mixer until creamy. Mix in eggs one at a time.
Mix the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, cocoa powder and salt and add to the butter mixture. Mix in the melted chocolate.
Finally fold in the almonds.
Divide the dough into 3 portions.
Shape each portion into a 25 cm long strand on a floured work surface.
Place the 3 dough sticks on a piece of baking paper with a gap between them. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes.
Take out of the oven and let cool for 30 minutes, then cut diagonally into slices with a sharp knife.
Place the biscuit slices on a baking tray and let dry for 35 minutes at 150 ° C.
Let cool on a kitchen rack and seal airtight.
