Ingredients for baked apple donuts
70 g hazelnuts, ground
50 g all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 large egg, at room temperature
60 g packed light brown sugar
60 g melted butter, slightly cooled
3 tbsp apple butter
30 ml hazelnut milk
Topping:
100 g granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
100g butter, melted

Preheat oven to 177°C. Spray a donut pan with non-stick spray. Set aside.
Whisk the flour, hazelnut, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg together in a medium bowl. Set aside. Whisk the egg and brown sugar together in a medium bowl until smooth. Whisk in the butter, apple butter and hazelnut milk until smooth and combined. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Don´t overmix.
Spoon the batter into the donut cavities. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned. Allow to cool for about 1 minute and transfer to a large baking sheet. Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Dip the donuts in the melted butter, then dunk into the cinnamon sugar mixture coating all sides. Donuts are best served immediately.
