This post is also available in german/deutsch.The temperatures rise a lot and we spoil ourselves with homemade ice cream, dark chocolate ice cream. Creamy, chocolaty and not too sweet. We keep finding out how happy we are with our ice cream machine. Delicious ice cream in all flavors can be easily prepared.
What is your favorite ice cream?
Dark chocolate
As with every dish, the taste depends on the ingredients. A sun-ripened tomato just tastes better than an unripe one. And so it is with chocolate. You have probably already noticed that 70% chocolate doesn´t always taste the same. Some taste a bit tart, others full-bodied or even bitter.
For our delicious dark chocolate ice cream, it’s best to choose your favorite type and it should have at least 70% cocoa.
Dark chocolate ice cream
400 ml of milk
100 ml cream
50 g cocoa powder
100 g 70% dark chocolate, 80% if desired
80 g of sugar
2-3 tbsp dark chocolate drops
Chop the chocolate into pieces. Bring the milk, cream and sugar to the boil and then remove from the stove. Add cocoa powder and chocolate and stir until the chocolate has melted. Put in a heat-resistant measuring cup and let cool down completely.
When the mixture has cooled down, place in the ice cream maker and let freeze for 35 minutes. Just before the end, stir in the chocolate drops. Depending on the ice maker manufacturer, place again in the freezer to cool or serve immediately.
If the ice cream is not eaten right away, put it in a suitable container and freeze it. Before consumption, take out of the freezer for 10 minutes and allow to thaw.
Tip: Use 500 ml of plant-based milk instead of milk and cream. Here you may have to adjust the amount of sugar.
