Pesto Twist Bead

All know the sweet twist breads. Today we have chosen a hearty version of the popular pastry.

The good thing is: this braid goes well with Easter, parties, serves as a sandwich, snack break and as a side dish.
You can slice the pesto twist bread and garnish nicely or garnish with tasty ingredients. Make sure that the ingredients are not too moist, because that doesn´t like the bread. You can also take him to birthday parties or festivals and events. You will see that it is tasty and enjoys great popularity.Pesto Twist Bead

Pesto Twist Bread

200 g spelt flour
200 g wheat flour
250 ml of lukewarm water
9 g dry yeast (instand Yeast)
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
filling
4-5 tbsp of green pesto (bought or homemade)
eg.
2 tbsp of soy milk or 1  egg wash

Lay out a box tin with baking paper.

Place the flour, salt and dried yeast in a mixing bowl and stir. Add water and oil and knead with kneading for 5 minutes to a smooth dough.
Cover and leave in a warm place for 60 minutes or until the volume has doubled.
Briefly knead the dough and roll it into a rectangle on a floured work surface.
Pesto
Brush with pesto and roll up from the long side.
Cut lengthwise with a sharp knife and twist the strands into each other. (see Gif video below)
Put the braid in the box mold and let it go covered again for 40 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
Brush with soy milk or egg wash.
Bake the pesto twist bread for 35-40 minutes.

dough

  • 200 g spelt flour note
